Hey there, hellos peoples-

Here is a new blog in the most profoundly unprofessional and silly manner.I do sincerely hope that you, dear reader,. are faring well and your day is going smoothly and beatifully and everything is great!!

So I been thinking about making some merch, cart before horse (I guess? ) I don’t know. I am just struggling to find how Ankhabar can fit into this modern day music scene / scenario, where AI is taking over and streaming/ subscriptions have replaced physical medias (CD’s blockbuster, redbox, why would I buy ANY CDs tapes or Records when I can get it all at a touch of a button?!? – Spotify, Amazon Music, iTunes etc, etc.)  On the other hand, if you are “old skool” like me, some ppl still want to have the physical media, something real, they can hold, touch, feel etc.

pictured is a surreal otherwordly landscape with red and orange colors whit a firebird rising over a stream, with clouds shaped like birds swooping downwards

With my distributor pretty much ghosting me, eventually I fear they will take my two remaining albums (and the new 2024 single, “Plombreries“) down since I can’t even update my payment information, and my PayPal’s are blacklisted/ wiped, no longer able to be used.  Also how bandcamp would pay for my streams and downloads, too. BUT! While I am not and have never been in this for the money it would be great to at least BREAK even, before I sing my final ‘swan song’ and they put me in the ground (or shoot me into space, let;’s wait and see how this plays out)…

Long story short, I want to make sure I can leave a mark/ legacy even if I can’t make a bunch of money, supplement my income, or even just break even (I’ve put over $15,000 into these projex alone, just making / producing them and making them available to people ONLINE (thru my distributor, Songcast, who I am having A LOT of trouble with, to the point where I feel I need to possibly include a lawyer)) – online as in- online streaming, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc. although for a short period of time there was the ability to purchase physical CD’s for some Ankhabar, Rose Pedal Division, Dr. L16ht, and _aLTER _iDEM albums, which I paid for to have that be available, then they stopped letting it be available, which makes no sense, they were ALREADY  heavily marked up, pricewise – while still being somewhat competetive ($8.99 for a 5 song, 15 minute EP? Oh, recycled paper case, hmm that IS Nice..) made on-demand, why make them unavailable? I suppose if there was more demand.. at any rate ….that is just another whiny complain session about my distributor.  What I would really like to do is get a bunch of records pressed and sent to the few remaining ACTUAL record stores left in the USA,. I could distribute myself, at this point. That also, gets costly rather quickly.  But! If I’ve learned anything about online marketing, it’s best to lay the groundwork before launching a product.. so here is some information about how cool Ankhabar blacklight  posters COULD be lol…

Ankhabar Blacklight Posters

Ankhabar Canfour - Album Cover

Blacklight posters are a vibrant and captivating form of art that really come to life under ultraviolet (UV) light. These posters are designed with fluorescent inks that glow brightly when exposed to blacklight, creating a striking visual effect that can transform a room into a psychedelic, glowing space. Popular in the 1960s and 1970s, blacklight posters often featured bold, surreal designs, trippy patterns, and vivid colors, making them iconic in counterculture and music scenes. The way they pulse with energy and color under UV light gives them a unique, otherworldly vibe that feels both retro and timeless. Whether it’s an abstract design, a psychedelic portrait, or a nature scene, blacklight posters are cool because they combine art, light, and an interactive experience, offering a whole new dimension of visual excitement. In other words, blacklight posters would be a great fit for Ankhabar’s eclectic, electric, experimental and trippy soundscapes. I think they would be great products to launch initially –  (in … in this new ERA of ‘money money money blah blah, brah?…. brah?!’)
